3d render... Someone spent hours building a 3d body, clothing, hair-ing, texturing, lighting, and rendering Luis Armstrong.

I hereby would like to second the motion to implement the "why" tag. As in, "Why Luis Armstrong?"

That said, this is an absolutely beautiful render, and I say this with the knowledge of how difficult creating a human form in 3D can be, having dabbled in the art myself.

I think you are giving this too much credit, making a zbrush human sculpt is pretty simple, 2-3 hours to take this to the level you can see here, especially since anatomy on this piece isnt perfect ;]
its funny that i like the pants the most, and they were the easiest to make, since they use a normal mpa created from texture, and normal projection uvmap ;d

The arms are passable but the abs are horrendous.

The size and shape may vary but there should be 4 layers, not 3.

actuallly its pretty common to see only 3 ;] Many ppl have the muscles built so that the 1 and 2 look like one big muscle leyer or the 1 one is really small ;]

Another explanation is that his pants cover the fourth layer. he wore it pretty high up.
