I don't know how to tag this, but it seemed so useful, I had to upload it.

Very useful indeed. Thanks a lot for uploading this! The typo in the first line (間接 for 関節) doesn't even make a dent in its awesomeness.

...yes, all 6'2" and 225lb of me with my hands big enough to cover my entire face is very feminine.
*goes to cry in the corner*

My thanks to the artist, the uploader, and the approver! Maybe this tutorial will help me get better at drawing hands.

5'7" 180lb with hands that go from my chin to just past the top of my nose longways; apparently manly as fuck. I don't get it either.

While many people see this as a well-drawn hand, as an artist I noticed a glaring flaw on his drawing. First the way he drew the structure of the clenching knuckles is wrong. If you try to clench your fist and then direct your fist to your face, you will notice the knuckles forms a natural rhythm resembling a rooftop with the middle finger's knuckle as the highest point. The two joints after the knuckles also follows this rhythm. This artist fails to capture that almost universal characteristic of a hand. Instead he simply drew it straight which reduces the naturalistic appearance of the hand.

So, because of that, I'm removing this from the pool in order to prevent future learning artists being misled.

    Same length
In its relaxed state, the first joints are hardly bent at all, the thumb is straight and the little finger is bent ever-so-slightly.
With manly people, the ring finger often seems to be longer than the index finger.
Fingers bend toward the inside of the palm.
For the little finger, all three joints are bent about 90 degrees.
The first joint of the index finger only bends about 45 degrees. The second joint bends about 120 degrees, and the third about 70 degrees.
With feminine people, the ring fingers seems shorter and the index finger longer.
