Well at the very least Moona and Risu have more subscribers than Azki. If you have more subscribers than Azki than you're definitely on the right track.

You keep talking about HoloID, but what about Holostars? At least people actually know the girls exist, no one ever talks about the male members.

If I remember correctly, isn’t that because Azki isn’t a streamer but instead her focus in music or something? So it would be expected cause she doesn’t interact as much due to her specific work.

I think the difference is that Holostar is suppose to be a bit more underwhelming, even though that absolutely not the case, which is both a good and bad for them. Good that they are not under as much pressure to perform and be super successful or else (at least not much, compared to the girls) thus they are able to keep a very sizable base but bad that they are not exactly super well known like the rest of the girls so they unfortunately don’t get promoted as much and have to work twice as hard for exposure on their own(which is why they are able to collabe more with other vtubers outside of Holo)

ID on the otherhand, I feel it is just a case of bad management on Cover’s part as with Hololive CN, where they are unfortunately just given the tools and ask to just go, without as much support and is treated as more of a spinoff/separate branch regrettably.

But once again, thanks to the popularity of EN, the ID girls are very much benefitting since all 3 of them can speak English very well, as well as Japanese and Indonesian, giving them a very good edge and beneficial to the rest of the Hololives JP and EN as a bridge between the two.

I mean it's kind of an established aspect of anime that girls will be more popular than guys. And People sort of know Roberu since he has a reputation as a funny guy.

Hololive CN was a bit different since most of them weren't allowed on Youtube to begin with. At least I can recognize every member of of Hololive ID and some members of Holostars. With CN I only know Civia and Artia and even then I have no idea what they sound like.

Yeah, Azki only streams about once every two weeks, and only does karaoke streams. It's not really fair at all to compare people to her because her content is a completely different focus. Of course her subscriber count isn't going to grow very quickly, most of her efforts are offscreen and she doesn't do anything that would make for a funny clip. Seems to me like her music career is doing pretty well, though.

Do you actually have a basis for this? Unless there's actual evidence that Cover isn't doing anything to support CN(the recent disbanding doesn't count), ID, or Stars, it seems pretty unfair to start questioning their management just because some vtubers aren't as popular as others. Most westerners hadn't even heard of the JP members before games like Azur Lane randomly collabed with them and people started translating clips of them en masse. It isn't like there were any HoloEN ads or anything, either, just a sudden announcement for them, a trailer, and then they were here.

What even constitutes "support" when the subject is popularity?

At the very least well I mean Holostars aren't receiving any product collabs the way male Nijisanji Vtubers are getting.

And I mean I think we all know the #1 reason stinting their growth is the stigma against having them collab with the Hololive girls. Fubuki and Matsuri are doing good to help promote them, but I highly doubt that decision is coming from Cover rather than the individuals. Cover could certainly fix this but they aren't.

Hopefully once we have Holostars EN they'll be able to regularly collab with Hololive EN girls because westerners don't give a shit about keeping the separation and hopefully that will also make it easier for Holostars and Hololive JP to also collab in the future.

At the very least, their fortunes seem to be changing. Roberu's on track to be the first to break six digits, and the others have seen decent growth since their Among Us collabs too. The western community in general seems readily supportive of their efforts now.

All the Stars were part of the AGF event in Japan recently, and also had appearances in a Bushiroad event prior (each day had a different HoloPro member, male or female, as a guest in a stream about various Bushiroad IP).

Aside from product collabs, which the Holostars have had, the only thing Cover ever did to hinder them was bar them from collabing with the female members, and that ban was lifted ages ago. Cover doesn't decide every single thing the vtubers do, outside of product deals and sponsorships, the talents mostly decide for themselves what kind of content they make and who they collab with, though management may reject some things. Coco apparently wanted to collab with Projekt Melody and was told she couldn't. Cover could force the female members to interact with Stars, but that isn't typically how they do things.

Didn't know about the product collabs, so I'm glad they at least got that.

And what I said was the thing holding them back is the stigma of not being able to get a collab with the girls, not a hard rule on it. Hololive JP fans and many of the girls(Coco, Miko) themselves seem to have an attitude that its supposed to be a girls' only club that I believe it'd be near impossible for the guys to be the ones to go ask a girl for collab. Especially when some(like Towa) is right off the table, despite sharing interests with the boys. Hell, some girls even confessed they felt shy asking another girl for a solo collab, so it's gonna be on a completely different level to have them be the one to ask the guys.

I mean at least Aki and Suisei shouldn't have problem collabing with them too, considering they have brought on male guitarists for their singing streams, but again I think it'd be near impossible for Rikka or Izuru to be the one to go asking them for such collab, when Rikka clearly showed he was more confident asking female indies to collab with him than the Hololive girls. Almost every other Holostars are the same, they clearly have more female friends who are indie/Nijisanji than Hololive.

When Fubuki was announcing a new Among Us collab on her play stream with Oga just earlier today, Oga was able to say how he also enjoyed the game but wasn't even able to casually ask Fubuki if she'd want to play Among Us with him sometimes.That's the amount of pressure they're being dealt within their own company. There's no more hard rules to prevent them, but the stigma still make it near impossible to make a move without stepping on a landmine. It's why they could ask Iofi and Risu to come back for collabs time and time again but not the JP girls.

That's why I said at this point Cover should have done something to at least soften this stigma. They could very easily just plan a group collab between equal numbers of the guys and girls as an icebreaker event and it would have been salvation to the Holostars, but they aren't doing it.
