Not sure how to phrase「逆にアリ」in a way that sounds right in English. I get it, but any way of phrasing it I can come up with in my head sounds awkward and wrong.

Operating on the translation of 'It works because it's the opposite' as a basis, I would go with 'It's cute because it's not!' or 'It so works in all the wrong ways!'

Thanks a ton for the suggestions, since those are actually a lot better than what was bouncing around in my head at first. I wanna go with "It shouldn't work, but it does!" though, since I understand the 逆 as more of an "on the contrary" thing rather than an "it's the opposite" thing.
