She has dogs, you can see them in HM in the Chireiden stage. In fact her pets are of various animals and Orin isn't the only cat and Okuu isn't the only corvid. Also as someone who has a cat I can confirm they do in fact do that when you are sleeping. In fact while trying to write this comment she was poking me with her paw because she wants attention.
