Anyways, people don't seem to understand that everyone who is/used to be Soldier are ridiculously strong. All Soldier's were experimented on with MAKO energy so that's obviously why Cloud can wield such a huge sword of serious destruction. And Cloud was kind of "overdosed", I guess you could say, so he's extra strong. The sword being so big can work great defensively too.

He's determined to solo Emerald Weapon.

Even if you could, 5.7x28s are really pretty pitiful, ballistics-wise. Especially in comparison to some of the things Barret's gun arm shoots.
