Yes, it's the Yamato to my knowledge.. I think she only got the 1944 refit since Musashi was sank in Battle of Sibuyan sea (might remember wrong the name of the battle though).

She's pretty easy to pick out from the other battleships..

Yea, that's the Yamato. As W4lt3r said, this is the post-Sibuyan setup since you can tell from the anti-air fixed platforms added to the side of the ship at the expense of the 6.1" guns.

You should be able to identify the Yamato by looking at the swoop forecastle, the slanted funnel and its bridge.

Actually the Yamato endured quite a beating considering the fact that during its final battle it didn't have any kind of air support and was attacked by hundreds of American aircraft... (one wave of 280 aircraft followed by another of 100). After having taken 10 torpedo and 7 bomb hits it sunk north of Okinawa...

Wait a total of 380 aircraft and only 10 torpedoes and bombs hit its large target?

I don't know how hard it is to dive bomb on a slow moving target the size of a ... well a battleship but they should have more hits than that.

At 12:32 on 7 April 1945, Yamato was attacked by a first wave of 280 aircraft from Task Force 58, taking three hits (two bombs, one torpedo).[1] By 14:00, two of Yamato's escorts had been sunk.[5] Shortly afterward, a second strike of 100 aircraft attacked Yamato and her remaining escorts. At 14:23, having taken 10 torpedo and 7 bomb hits, Yamato's forward ammunition magazines detonated.

As read up there, they sunk his escort first, only the gettisburg was the only great warship without escort.

Thing is, the bulk of the force were fighter planes.

LOL, thing is, when Yamato was refitted in 1944, the secondary battery configuration was changed to six 6.1-inch (15 cm) guns, twenty-four 5-inch (13 cm) guns, and ONE HUNDRED SIXTY TWO 1-inch (2.5 cm) antiaircraft guns, in preparation for naval engagements in the South Pacific.

I bet this made things difficult for the attacking planes to hit it, but still, the total amount of hits were 9 bomb hits and 11 torpedoes... quite a beating...

The Yamato also had 8 destroyers accompanying it, 4 of them where lost and the others where heavily damaged.

The US Navy only lost around 12 planes in the entire endeavor IIRC.
