Since the flash format is going to die soon, but also because this PV does not seem to have been uploaded in original format, I decided to make this addition. The flash was uploaded at /f/, and I could not find it anywhere else for years. The is the promotional flash for

song title: 彼女が一番少女なのか?(Is She the Number One Girl?)
    album: T★GIRLS.02
    circle: Forestpireo
    release: 2009-08-15 (Comiket 76)

Amazing that the last tagged flash file to be uploaded to this site before this was back LAST year in April, over 20 months ago.

    RIP Flash Player

Despite flash is still used widely, it is kinda sad that those people decided to end it.

It's a bit of a shame. Some very old legacies are going to die along with Flash. Tons of old games, animations, and gifs are going to get buried.

There are a couple of archival groups out there that have managed to save a whole lot of the most popular flash stuff out there. Some of them are also perfectly willing to archive anything that is sent their way so if like a flash game/movie or whatever contact them and send them a link and they will probably do their best to save it. Sadly a ton of stuff is still probably going to be missed but that tends to happen even with more modern stuff.

I also don't know of any of the groups archiving any of the more lewd flash animations and or hentai/porn games. If there are please let the universe know... for completeness sake and um... research purposes.

You just have to launch the file from local drive. A standalone player was provided by adobe for years to "test" .swf media locally. It can also be isolated from the rest of the system if you are afraid a flash file might be malicious. Also, ruffle and the flashpoint launcher are a thing.

I'm not saying flash is some sacred knowledge, but lots of pre-2010 internet media was flash only, and there are many hidden gems. Also, flash operated both raster and vector graphics (you can see it in this one), something that cannot be said about many popular media. So it's worth attention.

Never let the old knowledge die.
Adobe may abandon their (adopted) problem child, but we can be there for it for much longer.

Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.

I think archivists would disagree with your opinion, especially with the concerns that due to changing formats and not enough efforts to convert material in older formats to new formats that we may lose a lot of valuable information during this time period.

How was this uploaded with the Kagi tag? Not only is the artstyle very different, but they even credited the actual animator at the end! I've found sources here and here that credit I.C.yas as well. Tags updated to reflect this.

This animation in particular works almost perfectly with Ruffle, which is a JavaScript based flash player.

Yes, the animation has some glitches here and there, but it works mostly fine. Also, I tested other flash animations, and most of them work as good as this one.

I think that once the compatibility of Ruffle improves, it could be possible to integrate it in Danbooru.

Also, is possible to use the official standalone player to play flash files, and there they will work without any problems. Here is the player: https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html

So no, do not remove posts with flash content! Archiving the past is really important.
