The SS had one of the coolest uniforms out there, in fiction or in reality, in the past, present or future. No one can argue with that. They had these metallic skulls and these cool SS/thunderbolts insignia on their black or dark brown uniforms. Oh, I'm going to piss my pants because of how cool they are!

Germany's insane relationship to their own past is a special kind of fucked up, much like Turkey's and Japan's with their respective histories. In each their own way, admittedly, but nonetheless.
Anyway. Nazi uniforms rocked. Of course, the side with the best designed uniforms tend to lose the war.
And like the anynomous jew up there, I'm "entitled" to appreciate Nazi things to a degree; both my granddad's fought the Nazis. One as a soldier, the other as a member of the resistance.
germany in WW2 set the standard for warfare. besides guerilla warfare, no one has come up with a better fighting strategy that is better than blitzkrieg.

Blitzkrieg is a term coined after the actual act rather than some central doctrine of Wehrmacht.
The fact of the matter is, German Heer achieved that much with Hitler standing in the way of operations and no real war strategy to speak of. That's one fantastically motivated and disciplined force, which wins admiration from many.
I think Japan's weird though when it comes to WWII Germany. They just like the hardware.
