Being an external monster doesn't automatically put you into Slytherin. Being an internal monster doesn't either, but the chances are significantly higher.
Also she didn't contact the Ancient Ones over promises of power, she did it by accident, and is suppressing the madness effect. She really doesn't have the ambition required to be a good Slytherin.
