I was kind of hoping Ido would do something like this. The Italians tend to act as a group in his comic (or at least the pages that are posted publicly), so they don't feel all that distinct from each other. Having them just play off each other helps them feel more distinct.

I'm no connoisseur but this upcoming feast looks like a disaster in the making... especially when they are NOT discussing with other groups before acting. The Italians and French not telling the Americans the correct ingredients to buy, the Italian and French dishes having clashing flavours, worsened by the alcohol from the Soviets ruining said flavours further... These last 4 strips are giving me Shokugeki no Souma flashbacks...

Wouldn't be surprised if in the end they just order food or eat instan ramen.

it's really somewhat true that I couldn't help but keep laughing. just from the last 1000 years we got: 100 years war, 30 years war, 7 years war, War of Spanish Succession, Napoleonic war, 1848 revolt (still not sure about this one), WWI, WWII.... heck, for war outside of europe, it's still basically european fighting each other on different arena!

Don't forget the "Einigungskriege" 1864-1871: German-Danish war, German-Austrian war, German-French war. And the Crimean war. The first and the second Silesian war.
The 40 years after the German-French war (1870-71) to the Balkan wars (1912 & 13) and WWI (1914-18) are the longest phase of peace for Europe until today, if you call the Cold War (1945-89) a war.
