"Thus Spake Shipgirl X" has been the name of his books since Graf, with Shipgirl X being the cover girl. The Warspite book covers contents from Iowa's arrival to before Gangut, who appeared in the next book under her name.

Imagine going back to early 2016, telling your past self currently reading the Hoppo arc that:
The Admiral and Graf get hitched.
The real Iowa is a nerd.
Kaga gets a battleship form.
Teste and Richelieu join a Zuiun cult.
Yamato is the strongest in the base but still doesn't (get to) do craaap.

Well Ido does know ye fan ,the only artist that im aware that can speak both english and japanese that managed to collaborated in one of his comics. So he probably agrees working with foreigners.

It's hardly an "open secret", more like a well known fact. Remember at some point KC Staff came up to the aid of the Kancolle Wikia when they were hit with a false DMCA.

Ido himself has been involved with Danbooru too, when one of his works was scanned and uploaded here when it was only available in print form.
