So this raises more questions since I thought they were all orphans
Side bang is not an orphan, some time ago durring backstory arc Diva drew how she and main nun met. Side bang was dropped of by her mom, presumebly who was also a little nun in the same monastery/chatholic school? before. I think only main nun is the orphan.
Also I'm not sure if ostrich is shocked there are more of their kind or it's just tired from running.
And finaly i wonder what's the hook bang's story. I'm assuming all nuns live in some sort of chatolic boarding school maybe? Otherwise i have no idea why would hook dad send his daughter there.
As I said before - in my country in the rural areas there's common sight of priests being teachers, due to difficulties of maintaining school proper and priests are people with good (on average) education. Then there's a special schools that doubled as orphanages - children were living there and gaining their education up to "high-school" grades. These schools also accepted non-orphans, which is similar to this universe's convent, where it is acting as boarding school. Usually kids sent there by parents on a reason that latter can't accomodate resources for child's growth, be it material or spare time. Main, seems to be dropped off there because parent couldn't or wouldn't care for her, while Half is clearly sent off for education, as her mother received it and can fully trust on this school (Half's mother seems to be top-tier artist and successful artists ain't sitting in one place for long due to special orders or exhibitions). The farmer just got too much to watch over, knowing Hook's antics. Also, Sheep nun seems to be reached her own paradise.
P.S.: now it seems that ostrich's egg wasn't a random encounter, but a parent's gift. P.P.S.: ostrich farms are very profitable business as long as you can accomodate for birds' comfort. That means around grobe up to 45° latitude and enough open space.

Thanks for the explanation and yea i can see how a farmer would have a hard time managing hook and the farm at the same time.
