Usually, I'd be joking about how Miura would probably use death as an excuse to fool around and play Idolm@ster instead of working on the transference of his art from physical to digital, but this is genuinely a loss. He was one of the best artists to do it, and the old chapters of Berserk are a testament to the detail, effort and skill he put into every one of those beautiful spread panels. Condolences to his loved ones through these trying times.

This really sucks. Acute aortic dissection is a crappy way to go.

It feels so surreal still. Thank you for everything you've done, Miura. Your work will forever be etched into my soul. You created a masterpiece, and I can't express enough just how much impact it had on me and others.

Guess we'll never see Berserk reaching its final conclusion...

Rest in peace, Miura-sensei, and thank you.

Man, this is depressing. Griffith won. At least Guts got to see Casca again before the end, but this was not the end I was expecting for the manga.

Well, at least it happened once Guts&co were no longer stuck on that goddamn boat. Guess that now we just wait to see whether whatever outline Miura might have had for Berserk's ending gets released or not.

Never read the manga or watched the anime. But it's so sad dying at the very young age.
    My condolences to Miura's family.

For anyone wondering if any ghost writer will take over like with Wheel of Time or Dune, Japanese usually respect late people's work enough to leave unfinished. Like what happened to Guin Saga's writer, Kaori Kurimoto, who left it unfinished at the 130th volume, at the time of her passing in 2009.

Sigh. Some of us fans joked that "I'll probably die before Berserk, finished", but we would never thought it would be in eternal hiatus like this. Yes, hiatus. Not end; for me, it's hiatus. RIP Kentarou Miura, and thank your very much for the masterpiece that is Berserk.

ott. I'll hope those people crowing for Yoshihiro Togashi or Katsura Hoshino (on another case - Eiichiro Oda) would consider stop doing it. If they need rest because of their health problem, LET THEM BE - they owe us nothing; Their health are the utmost importance.

Guin Saga apparently is at 140 now.

Zero no Tsukaima is one of the few odd ones out, right? Though that I think they had the notes. And maybe the author intended for it to be finished too, but my memory is kinda fuzzy by this point.

I think Trinity Blood novel also completed by ghost writer after Sunao Yoshida's passing.
