I don't think I've ever heard about pigeons swarming swans or anybody else for that matter. So I am still clueless of why this happened in the picture. The only thing that comes to mind is a reference to Hitchcock, but it doesn't seem to apply here.

Seen them attacking baby pigeons (not theirs) and crows (when there are enough pigeons). I dunno why, but a lot of them seem to have something against other baby birds. Their own kind, especially.
Also seen them swarming humans, but those are the ones who get fed daily and are acclimatized to humans. And they are swarming to be fed instead of to attack. Though pecking will happen.
