Considering that the translation states that it contains a residential housing unit, that's a bit more than just A human shield.

Those stag beetle-like parts are reminiscent of the LED Mirage.

Beam cannons on the shield? Nu Gundam HWS has got that covered.

Shield boosters? TR-1 Hazel

The only way one can top this is to turn the Dendrobium Orchis into a shield unit. :P

At that point, can you really call it a shield anymore? It's a fucking weapon pod in the first place.

Also for everyone pointing that the shield has housing unit, it is meant for a single person (hence it say unit, not unitS), which is likely the pilot. My take on that design was the shield was actually the transport unit for the mech (and the weapons) when it's out of battle, and meant to dock like Wing's shield unit. The pilot can transfer from the ship directly into the mech from cockpit like Mazinger, and then the ship detaches and became shield.

Still, unless the ship has internal shield generator or something like that, using that for defense will more than likely cause all mounted weapons to became useless after few hits...

And I loved the Gouf Custom's gatling-armed shield to begin with. You try to carry that thing planet-side and just go ahead and say good bye to the mech's arm.

Transport that flies the mecha into battle... has additional weapons... pilot transfers to the mecha... that's Grendizer LOL.
