Think we'll need to sort out all of Takiki's Uma comic into a single pool.

Edit: Pool created. Stuck a placeholder title for now. Think I managed to track down the first page.

Anyway, there are quite a few pages missing here and there, and the pages we have up are probably not in order.

So, probably have to go through the artist's Pixiv manually and sort them into the pool one by one while uploading any missing pages. Can't just do a Takiki Umamusume order:id search and dump them in.

(Well they can be dumped in, but they need to be quickly sorted out soon before it confuses anybody else who might be working/TL-ing/reading the pool.)

I do not envy anyone who winds up stuck with this job.

I have absolutely nothing against uploading the missing pages, I love this artists style but I can't promise how fast it will be since it depends on how big my daily feed is among other things. I can even sort them into the pool when I'm done since it would be very easy by just following their Pixiv page.

    Thanks.

Anyway, placed 28 posts into the pool for now.

Wait a second. Is just me or she got "possessed" by Urara in the 2nd to the last panel?

Studies have shown that the presence of cherry blossoms is negatively correlated with intelligence. /jk

    C'mon Urara isn't that dumb.

    Bakashio on another hand.

Maybe not dumb but not smart either, though her enthusiasm and friendliness outweighs her lack of intelligence.

Urara's in-game story has her almost fall prey to a shady guy because she believed he was selling shoes that would make her run faster.

She's hella cute but definitely not on the smart side lol.

Urara is pretty innocent but naive.

She's both simple-minded and book dumb (canon profile says her test scores are a mess too). In most anime 'cliques', that would place her solidly within the "baka" group (the ones that have to stay back for remedial classes all the time). And the baka of the baka group too (there's usually one), unlike some others who might have "book dumb but actually pretty shrewd/smart" or "prodigiously talented in some other field" going for them.

Though Bakushin O... hers is an entirely different level of "special". The kind that make you think "what is she doing in this 'normal-track' educational system" in the first place. Like Akutsu Ruri or Hanabatake Yoshiko kind of "special".

Note that the actual racehorse that Urara is based on is famous for one thing and one thing only: LOSING every single race. 113 races, 113 losses. Yes, ain't making this up, a hundred and thirteen consecutive losses. But she ended up pretty popular (almost a household name in some places) because her story somehow turned into an inspiring "not giving up in the face of defeat" one after it was aired on TV. People even bought her betting tickets all the time, either as a show of support, or as a 'good luck' charm ("never hit" stretching to mean "never getting hit" in a car accident). I think even one of the Japanese PMs even referenced her in one of his speeches.

(Also hmm, oddly, think Urara is the only uma-girl to have a completely different hair color compared to her RL horse counterpart.)

Losing a good number of races named after her, even (her last race was the Haru Urara Challenge Cup). Though she's not even close to the racehorse with the highest amount of no-win losses - that would be Dance Saber, with (currently) 211 losses, 0 wins, while the ironically named Atari has the highest consecutive loss record in Japan with 222 in a row (ending at 261L3W at retirement in 2012)

Yeah. She is popular not because of winning, but she because has a very big losing streak yet never gives up. It applies much to her uma musume version.

Speaking of hair color, there is Twin Turbo.

Oh right, blue-haired horse-shark girl. With frickin' laser beams "turbocharger air intakes" on her ears.

Think the actual horse was a walking meme because of his name. And tendency to rush in the beginning but tire a bit at the end, leading to all sorts of "TT is stalling!", "...reverse thrusting!", "...applying retrograde thrusters!" and "...backfiring!" memes being shouted by both the fans and the announcer.

His uma counterpart seems to get memed and turned into punchlines by the Japanese fanbase.

    You see, they're...
    What is that horrible drug?!
    After drinking the drug
    INT DOWN!
    Trainer-kun! Food! Food!
    Hurry! Gimme food!
After drinking more of the drug
After drinking the INT UP drug she prepared in advance, she was returned to normal without incident.
    So bitter... don'wanna...
Woah! It's true! Your eyes have gone all normal!
    the evidence of high intelligence!
Fufu... the most important thing is that you believe me now.
    Hmm... I don't know...
This is late coming, but your eyes are certainly unique, Tachyon.
My eyes? Fufu... Are you taken with them?
Those familiar-looking cherry blossom petals!! Haru Urara and Sakura Bakushin O
    I dunno...sounds pretty fishy...
If you don't believe it, then witness it with your own eyes!
So... what would happen if we lowered your intelligence even further?
But since that seems fascinating, why don't we give it a try?
