Pineapple goes well with toppings that are greasy and excessive in fat content like bacon and meat, factually, since not only does the slightly sour taste excite your taste bud and help the eater not get sick of the meat too quickly, pineapple also helps get rid of some of the fat absorbed into by your body. So yes, hating pineapple on pizza is just a fucking meme and an annoying one.
Lol pineapple on tomato sauce is fucking nasty. We hate it for a reason.

Yeah man, people having different taste buds that make them have different food preferences from other people is totally just a meme. Armchair science says so.
I love pineapple. I love pizza. I hate pineapple on pizza. Two great things that are not great together.

I like pineapple on pizza (most of the time), but usually it doesn't really feel like pizza. Something with the pineapple disrupting the usual cheese/tomato taste, I think?
(Also sometimes you get a weird 'chunky' canned texture that just feels a bit off.)
On a similar note, dessert pizzas like chocolate and the various fruit pizzas too.
well, looking at how fast this turned into a shitshow, gotta wonder with the 12h-ago me why did I even bother. Not like it's my concern if one of you mofo got a stroke or heart attack because too much grease and fat in your blood or anything.

I'd also like to point out that pineapple = "magic fat-burning superfood" is a MYTH. It doesn't magically turn fat cheese-drenched "heart-stopping" pizzas into "healthy" food just by adding pineapple on top.

Even if it did, you could just eat the pineapple after and enjoy both foods separately, instead of ruining both.

Was about to ask which part of "some of the fat" do you not understand, but then it's probably not worth it so ima just shut up and let y'all enjoy your meat heaven lest I want to get sent to downvote oblivion a third time.

I can't fathom eating pineapple as is because of the high aciditric volume in it, but I can appreciate pineapple on pizza with or without the meme just fine, so let's just agree to disagree it's good for some but not outright spanw of satan- level of disgusting.

IT. DOES. NOT. HELP.
Pineapple has nothing that magically reduces fat. Or "get rid" of fat "absorbed into the body". Whether some or in part or whatever.
It's 'health' food natural foodie fad garbage "FAKE NEWS"! Bromelain works on protein, not fat! And all that cooking will denature (read: destroy) the enzyme! And even if it doesn't and you eat the pineapple raw—it gets denatured the moment it hits your stomach acid ANYWAY!
(And it doesn't reduce calories for proteins regardless. All it does it act as a meat tenderizer. "Helps digestion"? Also hogwash.
What it might 'help' [ha!] is breaking down the cheese proteins if you add raw wet pineapple on top of the cheese before baking, resulting in 'mushy' cheese instead of the usual 'stringy' texture.)
If you want to be a condescending smart-aleck and insult people, at least get your facts straight.
Eating pizza without pineapple is a crime as bad as eating Mexican "Tacos al pastor" without them. Just do try and use raw pinneaple instead of pineapple in syrup.

You mean dried pineapple right? otherwise it *won't cook.*
Yes, the raw pinapple is tipically peeled and partially dried/cooked on top of the meat on the vertical rotisserie before serving. The point is pineapple with syrup is too sweet in comparison with a raw pineapple and there exist another example that shows pineapples go well with meats... and don't get me started on the hawaian burger.

Well Pineapple is very acidic and is a good way to cut into the fatty content of a lot of meats, it's also sweet which pairs with the savoriness of salty ingredients, which is why it's paired with either bacon or ham.

> Pineapple > Very acidic
If that's the reason why people put pineapple in pizza then why don't you just put lemon slices atop of them?
The reason why pineapple/hawaiian pizza was created was because the creator, a Greek, wanted to top pizza with something like sweet-and-sour chicken, which has pineapple as one of it's ingredient. And at that time, Tiki Culture (which includes obsession with anything tropical-related, including pinepple) was on the verge.
Jiminy Christmas, and here I thought the pineapple-on-pizza wars were just a freakin’ meme! 😶

So, in other words, it’s all about how the pineapple is prepared + cooked? Sounds plausible to me; god knows there’s plenty of otherwise-awesome food that sucks if you don’t put in the effort to make it correctly.
Edit: If you all want to see true abominations against the very concept of pizza, look no further than Brazil.
