Just an (educated) guess here, but it's likely some kind of speech helper. You can see the same device hooked on three spots at once: the ear, near the mouth and inside her neck, which is likely near her vocal chords (if there was any). Combine that with the background image with the lungs, which showcases the size difference of the sharkwoman's lungs compared to normal human lung, most likely because the rest of the space are filled with gills.
Since she has smaller lung volume means she can't talk long sentences, or needs to usher very low volume of air with each words spoken, essentially doing ASMR 24/7. Now, since learning speech needs 2 factors of hearing (people talking to you and you 'hearing' yourself talk), the girl needs some kind of implement to let her hear her own voice otherwise her pronounciation would be like what you sound if you're singing while wearing headphones: you'll feel that you hit every note correctly, but upon hearing your recorded voice you'll want to kill yourself for singing off-key (which is also why singers listen to samples using only one ear).
