this is clever. her skin is continuing the pattern of her clothes. left side of her shirt is blue so her left arm and left half of her face is red. right side of her shirt is red so her right arm and right half of her face is blue. post #472751 shows that her legs follow the same continuation of the pattern, just reversed.
