The peashooter is an in-joke on the fact that in the game, that ship's main gun (called the "Trinity Cannon") is the most powerful in the game.

Well, good sir, if so passionate you be, perhaps you could get to the Relic Homeworld forums and voice your demand for Homeworld 3, made by Relic and not some other studio. No need for Homeworld to turn into another C&C debacle.

in all seriousness, it's not a game made for everyone. hell, i kinda missed the whole fuel concept from the first one... it made protracted battles "interesting".

The first homeworld is perfectly awesome. HW2 is shit. I've conversed on this topic with many others of the same opinion. HW2 is rarely compatible with those who liked the first series. It killed just about everything you could like about it, and fucked the interface to hell.
It's been bargain bin almost since it was released.
It's apparent by your reply post that your level of maturity leaves something to be desired... I therefore have no real hope in receiving a suitably informed reply. However...
HW 1 was awesome (on this we can agree), unique and revolutionary even... HW2 was essentially the same game but with minor changes to a couple of things. I felt the 3d map was easier to navigate and therefore superior, the tech/build screen/interface was different but by no means an abomination. You can adapt, it's one of our greatest strengths.
You obviously don't like the game and think it's terrible beyond belief (an opinion, not a fact)... I like the game and think that while there is always room for improvement playing HW2 still brings me joy.
to wildly speculate for a moment, the only chance we'll see relic doing this sort of thing again, is if thq decides to make a battlefleet gothic game with their 40k license, and pass the devel work to relic.
even then its a bit slim with DoW2 on the horizon.
and I for one liked hw2, simply because it took most of the mechanics of HW1 and made them better. the story was indeed crap.
also; the artist what did this has shown up a few moer times with generally moe-esque artworkage; but naturally I cant find any sources

They wouldn't abandon it at least that what DOW2 lead project manager says abaut HW since Homeworld franchise is no longer in astray Thq has gain homeworld franchise, and Relic now have 2 developer team that "free" (3 others work in Tales of Valor and DoW2)
They will came back evantualy, S-jet will lead them again to their "homeworld"
It's basically spawned it's own category of fanart in the Studio sections where members draw Homeworld Ship-Tans. Like Os-Tans except with Homeworld Ships.
Bleh complex mod. You know whats bad with these mods? Like point defense system, it got the right point, making battleship class more formidable, harder to kill, having enough turrets to make cheese from the enemy, but like every other mods they too gone too far, changing units, I don't need 10 types of super destroyers, nukes and any of these types of ****. They want to make a game and its not like homeworld, they kill the feel of it.
