well, the Red crew is overpowered, they be cheating. Yellow crew is pretty decent, some powerhouses but not overly so like with Red. Green... well, at least they have Yuuka and Shiki to help Sanae carry the weight of their group
yellow probably has Yukari and Ran, but wouldnt Chen be part of red? that would probably cause a mutiny resulting in a side change, or a decision not to fight, also wouldnt green/blue team have Utsuho?
Red crew pretty much has a LOT of Stage 5, Final and Extra Bosses. Remi, Flan, Kaguya, Moko, Shinki, Orin, Komachi... It's gonna be Hell. (Hence the Colour.)

Flan has blonde hair => yellow group, which makes it so yellow team will have both Yukari and Flan.

With the exception of Remi and Mokou, it seems that the teams are split based on hair color and not overall color - note that Orin, who has red hair and wears a green dress, is on the red team and not the ao (blue/green) team; likewise, blue-clad blonde Alice is on the yellow team.
Flan would be on the yellow team since she has blonde hair, Yuuka would be on the ao team since she has green hair (and IS there, behind Nitori and Hina), and Kanako would also be on the ao team since she has blue hair, despite all three wearing primarily red clothes. Okuu and the three tengu would be on the red team, Eiki and the two satori on the ao team, Yuugi and Suika on the yellow team, etc.
Regardless of who's on what team, if there is no time limit then Red will eventually win (by default) regardless of team kills due to Hourai immortality.
You can always bind the immortals up or sit there killing them repeatedly until they're tired, etc. Hell, as much as I hate using Yukari to prove a point, she could just gap them away from the battle. In the world of Touhou, immortality isn't that big of a deal considering many of the other Touhou abilities. Also, many people underestimate Eiki personally with her mirror that can bring forth a past self of someone.
If you guys mention characters from PC-98 like Shinki, then don't forget to put, for example, Mai, Sariel and Mima in the cold-coloured team. Why did everyone forget about Yuyuko? She would be in the cold themed team, she's not a snow spirit for nothing ("Wears a light blue and white kimono" - PCB). Generally ghosts in Touhou are meant to be cold, when Cirno meets Youmu on Misty Lake in her storyline she says that it became extremely cold (not an ordinary chill) and after defeating Youmu she says to her "This is my castle don't barge in here with your cold shoes". Youmu having green clothes would also be in the blue-green team. There's more. Both Yuyuko and Cirno, for example, are sort of immortal too (well, Cirno may have longer respawn than hourais tho). It's Gensokyo, every team is OP, no-one can win. Danmaku rules aren't there for nothing, either. Anyways, they are rather all on one side here, anyway. :P
