I would think that Reimu would investigate anyone who comes through the border, for threat assessment

From Reimu's perspective...who cares? if they disappear after she's already sold them, it's not her problem what happens to the weapons.

Actually that's fanon. They only disappesr if Shirou/Archer's image of them is incorrect or poor, or when either wills them away.

Yeah a TM protagonist breaks the rules of the setting in a way that leaves others confounded, but that's a standard. :D
