yeah they use QWERTY as the base, with kana mapped to them accessible through a switch key to the right of the space bar (you cant see it in this shot). usually they type it out in romaji and then just convert it from there because its faster tho

Might be kind of a late response, but IIRC it was a couple of years ago for either Comiket or Reitaisai. You can probably find it on ebay, Yahoo Japan Auctions or some other proxy.

As a extra tidbit, that's why there are "typos" with tu -> tsu and ti -> chi, resulting in a few Hatune Mikus here and there.
