That could have something to do with the fact that P1's MC doesn't have a name (unofficial manga names DO NOT count) and that half of P2 never came to America.

By that logic, Minato and Souji don't have names either, the unofficial manga names are the closest we have and FYI, Tatusya's name appears in Eternal Punishment and is Canon.
I think that it's a response to the PERSONA MUSIC LIVE: -Velvetroom in Akasaka Blitz- dvd that was released. All the music are from P3, Trinity soul and P4.

because minato's true arcana is death, so by default thanatos is his main persona. and on his awakening orpheus transformed(more like came out of orpheus) to thanatos on his first battle scene. secondary orpheus(telos) then his ultimate messiah. then his ultimate ultimate, universe.
I'm not sure if that's intentional, but the characters look remarkably like in-battle human character sprites from Devil Survivor... They do seem to share the same style and the lack of faces.
