Serious answer, the movie replaces the guntank after Jaburo with a second guncannon. G Fighter also gets replaced with the core boosters. The movie's also the canon version in case you weren't aware.
Oh thanks guys, I need to see the movie now. I never watched much of the original gundam, I didn't like it as a kid. I love the gundam saga overall (except the new stuff, I hated seed and haven't watched the newest stuff) But I digress I need to rewatch the original series. But why replace guntank, he was so much cooler then gun cannon?
In the retelling of the original MSG saga (named Gundam: The Origin), both the Zeon and Earth Federation use Guntanks, Guncannons are mass-produced on Earth, and both Mobile Suits are considered far too unmaneuverable to be anything but target practice in space, compared to the then-brand-spanking-new Zakus.
It's a very nice retelling, actually. If you can look past the dated art style that's a little too close to the original animation for many, it's a well-written war story that tightens up and and improves on the original.
