你或许可以认为1993年白宫前的炮响需要为现在发生在东欧的战争负责，如果那段日子里叶利钦真的被弹劾成功了，普京就算是能掌权，也很难能做到将他的权力放大到如今的位置上。叶利钦不仅背叛了自己的祖国，也背叛了那些真心实意的想要为苏联开创一个更民主，更自由的未来的人们——正是这场宪政危机，真正意义上的打断了俄罗斯联邦民主制度那稚嫩而脆弱的脊梁。而纵观历史，你很难看到一场如此荒诞的喜剧——大多数政治家们不会（向叶利钦这样）彻头彻尾的背叛自己的祖国，有一些被钉在耻辱柱上或捧上神座的背叛了一次，唯有叶利钦，背叛了两次。
It wouldn't be wrong to think that those shots fired in 1993 may hold some responsibility for the war happening in eastern Europe right now. Should Yeltsin really be successfully impeached, then even if Putin were able to hold power, it would be a lot more difficult for him to make decisions and enforce his decision upon the country. Yeltsin not only betrayed his motherland, but has also betrayed the ones who truly thought that they were fighting for Democracy, until the very Democracy was being crushed yet again by their own leader. Yet you wonder why Russians don't give a damn about whatever political movements is happening around them nowadays.
