Looking at this set i cant help think that they are all robots/androids, the look largely the same, have little to no expressions (not that an android is by definition emotionless) and they are all in a function where we would rather not risk real/sentient beings.

It's more an unfortunate consequence of Sameface Syndrome, but that's one way of looking at it.
