It reminds me of the scene where Gilgamesh cuts Shirou nearly in two, and then leaves him for dead, only for Saber to see he has Avalon inside of him, and Saber hugs him.
ah, a fellow countryman :D Yes, that is correct. Once, I thought about Shirou and Saber's connection in various aspects and I came to a funny conclusion. Saber is a girl and Shirou is a man but in analogy...if we look at a sword and sheath as reproductory organs...it turns out that it's Saber who's the man in this relationship. (sword => sheath). Other than that, in the VN Saber is really happy that he's going to be alive and safe and that he saved her from an ocean of shame. (in the VN) The truth is that Saber had a great suspicion about Avalon's whereabouts the day before. And for the anime haters: In my opinion, they made it look like Saber was neutral about her feelings to Shirou on purpose. But then again...does love need to be expressed by words?
