You know, there's something funny about the beamsabers in Gundam Seed. They don't seem to generate any heat. You have pilots being periced by them throughout the series, yet not only are they not vaporized by them, they aren't even killed instantly.

Which is funny because Shirou in 08th MS team used a beam saber to make a hot bath lol.

I can only think of three instances in SEED where a pilot gets hit with a beam saber. There's Nicol, who survives just long enough to say a few last words, at which point the beam blade pretty much cooks him from within.
Second one is a random GINN pilot at Panama. It takes about one second (at most) for him to vaporize.
Third is Shani in the penultimate episode. He also vaporizes in about a second.
I'd guess the only reason Nicol wasn't killed instantly was dramatic; the director wanted him to be able to say two words before his mobile suit exploded. Otherwise, beam sabers in SEED do seem to be very, very hot.
