Actually cats tend to go the other way when wet. I remember once being surprised at how thin a cat's tail really is when the fluff is compressed when giving the family cat a flea bath one time.
I think spitfire ment after the actual bath and not when wet. My cat and my sis's dog fur totally blows up once you air dry them. 1 giant ball of fluff.
