That smoke was probably drawn to show that the pierrot 'popped' the flower into existence with a sleight of hand. Compare the flower with the one Polka's holding, hers looks like artificial flower with the stem supported by a wire.

I do believe that you're pulling that statement out of your rear end, my good Sir. Have you got anything to back this claim up? Because Subaru appears to have an ugly-duckling type story in this series.
