To be fair, this is just a case of Even Evil Has Standards on Malos' part. Not even he would stoop to eternal torment through an endless war. He wanted to destroy humanity because he thought he represented its core evils and that they were innately irredeemable as a result, but to force a time loop to watch humanity kill itself for entertainment is just beyond cruel, even for him.
