Probably one of my favorite Altair pictures of all time.

I don't know the source on any of the pictures I upload - they're all gotten secondhand, through other websites and friends (none of whom drew them, or I'd give credit). If anyone has any info on the artists, feel free to update 'em.

Also, I figured with all the attention I was giving Assassin's Creed 2, I could spare some time to upload some of the Altair / Assassin's Creed stuff I have saved.

Hnyeahhh, I gotta admit this is pretty pimp.

It's still a pity he has an out of place American accent.

They had a reason for doing that. The reason for his lack of Arabic accent is that, as they said, the Abstergo Animus wasn't updated, you know, wasn't recent enough to correctly portray the specifics of the ancestors - accents, appearances, that kind of deal. It was fixed in the Animus 2.0.

The actual reason, of course, is that they figured nobody in America or Europe would want to play as an Arabic main character. So they gave him Desmonds voice. Ubisoft admitted, however, that his non-Arabic skin tone was because he had a Muslim father and a Christian mother - making him half European.

That makes sense, especially in light of them talking about how much Italian was in Animus 2.0 due to the translation software being laggy.

That said, Assassin's Creed Bloodlines on the PSP gives Altair an accent. I'm not completely sure why, but then again Assassin's Creed 2 gives no chronological space for Desmond to have been exploring that part of the memories, so I suppose it can be assumed that the game follows what was actually happening, and not just through through the Animus.

Ubisoft is one creative company, but I don't get their fear of what Americans would like and not like. What I really don't like is a company making decisions for me without even giving me chance to like their product.

That seems likely, since Desmond seems to have little to no knowledge of those events.
