Impressive portrait!

Hmm, since it popped up here in the comments, I decided to translate the artist commentary 14.5 years after apparently having posted it.

I don't think I've ever translated a haiku on here before.

Also in this case it had to have an extra syllable to make the translation make sense, which would be so easy to have avoided in English.
