This isn't even remotely the most pornographic entry. Many more risqué things were year one, and this in particular feels like it might be because of a DEEN Fate anime reference of all things, and we're comparing it to the larger context of this being the year where 'the ass juggles when she shoots' was one of the bigger new mobile game releases.

That wise man had a terrible business sense. Actual porn doesn't have a fraction of the marketability "almost porn" has. You also can't sell it on the apple/android stores, unless they've changed their policies recently. Actual porn would also have to be rated for adults, reducing its reach, and thus profits. Porn also just honestly doesn't sell all that well, "sex sells" really refers more to the idea of sex rather than actual sex.

There's a very good reason everyone is doing the same "see just how naked we can get these characters before it's too much" approach. It works, and way better than "overdoing it" ever could.

From what I can tell (by a brief Wikipedia search) Xochitónal is in fact the iguana thought to guard the Aztec underworld. It's possible that it's the Japanese transliteration that got it wrong.

Also I believe the Nahuatl pronunciation would be closer to ショ than to ソ. At least that's what's used in their article on Xolotl
