Are you joking? If she doesn't 'want' a human to die, with her powers all she has to do is bend the boundaries of life and death and that human is essentially an immortal similar to Mokou/Kaguya. Well that or she could always visit Hakugorokyu(sp.) and fetch that human...
WatcherCCG said: Exactly. Three wives for the price of one, though you'd probably have to wait til Chen has one or two more tails before Ran would let you touch her.
I can't even pet her o.o
Ah well Ran would be like, The perfect wife in her humanish form though

She done that to Yuyuko, by manipulating the boundary of life and death. Since that she is now a Ghost
I guess She will have some good sex with that lucky guy (With Ran) before that so called expiration date.

Boundary manipulation doesn't work that way.
Anyway, she would just talk to Eirin at the regular Old Ladies Alliance meeting and trade some heated slippers from the outside world and a bunch of PS2 games for Teruyo for a bottle of Hourai elixir.
I like how all of you are talking about the issue of whether or not Yukari's totally unexplained powers are capable of making a human immortal or not (as though we know enough about them to say conclusively either way) and totally missing the absolute ridiculousness of Yakumo fucking Yukari asking a man to "take care of her," like A) she needs to be taken care of and B) if she did, any human could do half as good a job as Ran does all the damn time.

Oh, nerd debates.
HOLY WILD SPECULATION, BATMAN!
I did find the "take care of us" part pretty amusing. Maybe she's just trying to intimidate the human?
Also, wouldn't it be troublesome having a wife who's asleep 75% of the time? Sounds really boring.
actually, that is one of the common "Classic" responses to a confession in Japan. (Or so I have read) I could be wrong but yeah, it pops up fairly commonly in manga and the like. Not the be all, end all. Manga that is, but if it is a lot of different manga, then it had to start somewhere, right?

It is a classic response, but it's still a frankly absurd thing for Yukari to be saying.
To be honest, this seems to happen in a lot of touhou-related art. You have these characters who, in canon, basically go around fucking shit up all day and doing whatever the fuck they want, but in fanart and doujin, they turn into these meek subservient chicks who blush and titter all day. Like, the fuck? If you think that's attractive, there are plenty of canons with chicks like that - hell, there are even some touhou characters who are like that. But Yukari has never given any indication that she's the kind of person who says to some human, "oh, please take care of me," so why the fuck do you draw her saying that?

...I believe this whole idea is from pixiv, actually - that's why it's in Japanese that needs to be translated.
We even have a pool for other similar things, at the top.
So, you know, don't hate that poster just because you don't like this - he probably wasn't the one who made this one.
This Yukari isn't as out of character as others. I think if people kept them in character, it wouldn't be anywhere near as popular a series as it is. They aren't nice people you know.
recklessfirex said: It's not out of character. Yukari is lazy. Being taken care of means not having to do anything.
This. While Ran can take care of chores, a husband would be VERY happy to give Yukari a nice back rub in bed, or even do silly things like carry her to the dining room for meals. Just don't pester her when she's not in the mood, and she might even let you play with her during winter. This is a win-win scenario, you just have to play your cards carefully.
The "please take care of me from now on" response is simply a traditional line given by a newlywed wife. Saying it (albeit with her own twists, naturally) is Yukari's way of saying "you'd better be prepared to go the distance".
Are... are you kidding? Are you all really kidding?
This is Yukari we're talking about. YUKARI. Not only is "take care of me" a classic Japanese line, Yukari is one of the laziest Youkai in Gensokyo. She puts Meiling and Komachi to shame.
I wouldn't put it beyond her in the least to run her 'husband' ragged with requests he's too terrified to deny, simply for the sake of messing with him (and maybe giving Ran a break). This is perfectly in-character for Yukari - mysterious and lulzy.

isn't "tittering" the usual conclusion in almost all the endings?
Basically. The thing is that as we see them portrayed they're IMO neither barely controlled psychotics liable to break out into fits of random violence, OR meek subservient house wives in waiting.(with a few exceptions in each case)
The so called "violence" is also more or less all huff and no puff. No one ever actually get's hurt and it's all seen as a big game. Realistically most of them are fairly sensible and open to reason if you don't do anything stupid. The first response of most of them to something like this is not going to be "RAAAAWR REND AND TEAR!!!" (Though in many cases it is likely to be an emphatic no. Actually if you think about it I bet this has happened before come on gorgeous effectively ageless women? Whatever the risks men must have tried before.)
Though this is all rather dumb as this is clearly just meant for fun and given the number of parodies the artist clearly know how silly and cliche it is.
Yeah, I definitely like this better than the "but! But I'm a youkai!" (although the "no experience with men" was slightly amusing, I didn't really like the utter Charisma Break involve.)
I'm guessing that unless Yukari wanted to mess with the gap between a human husband and a youkai husband, you're probably going to be cooking the meals, buying groceries, babysitting Chen, and generally being a "Househusband".
That is to say, it probably wouldn't be a bad life if you didn't mind doing those sorts of chores, and could handle the sort of Haruhi-like craziness Yukari could summon while bored. (Actually, I'm kind of getting the image of being Chen's "Father", but then needing her to protect you from the monsters Yukari lets out...)

While I agree that the lack of out-of-character insecurities is a very nice change, I can still see that coming up. Less "but--but I'm a youkai!" though, and more "You have thought this through, right? I won't be the subject of some strange whim of yours."
But, having said that, would you also be willing to look after these two as well? Thank you. We'll be counting on you to take care of us, now and forever.Oh my, to think that you would fall for someone like me, you're quite the strange human, aren't you? Well, I've been bored with everything lately, so I guess I can try being with you.
