Although Oguri competed in the Arima Kinen three times and won twice, this is probably not her first victory from 1988 when she beat Tamamo Cross. Given the "atmosphere" of the image, it is most likely after her second Arima Kinen victory (1990). She had finally overcome a string of increasingly bad failures that had plagued her up until then. It was also her last race ever, and she was able to finish her career on a high note.
