Google "Bi daman". It's a manga about toys (robots) shooting marbles. Very popular in Asia ~10 years ago.

It's a wonder to me why comics always show Mokou being the one who always challenges Kaguya, or taking the initiative of the rivalry between the two.

From what I know, the opposite actually happens. It's Kaguya who dragged on this meaningless affair. Mokou barely even seams like she wants get involved with her, maybe even tries to stay away.

According to canon, Mokou was the one who followed Kaguya to Gensokyo, and CiLR has Mokou distressed at the prospect of Kaguya returning to the moon. On top of that, the fact that IN's extra stage is Kaguya sending the heroines to fight Mokou cemented in fans' minds the image of her as a sneaky bi^W^W^W someone who prefers not to dirty her own hands with fighting.

Actually, that can't be true. "She was extremely surprised to discover Kaguya in Gensokyo and so close to where she lived."- a quote from the profile. She couldn't have followed Kaguya, or at the very least, not intentionally. This is just more proof of fan's assumptions on the canonical part.
"I stopped worrying about whether Kaguya would return to the moon. Even if she wanted to go back, she had no obligations towards me, and it seemed like she didn't want to go back anymore, anyway.

Besides, I remembered that I had other undying friends here in Gensokyo. "
In the end, Mokou didn't even really care that much about Kaguya. The whole moon thing probably caught her by surprise, and she just wanted her to confirm if it were true. In the end, it's actually all behind her.

From what I know, Kaguya didn't send them because she didn't want to dirty her hands, it was because it was just another attempt to bother Mokou. The whole "trial of guts" for the IN team was just for that.

"Mokou has hated Kaguya since then, and wanted to take her revenge before Kaguya returned to the moon."

" ...Mokou felt relief beyond what she had ever experienced - Kaguya was in the same mess she was!

Mokou still detests Kaguya, and Kaguya still tries to kill her, but neither of them can die forever. These are wonderful days... This broken place is truly a paradise!

And she is alive to enjoy it, how magnificent! "

If you still don't understand, read Inaba of the Moon and Inaba of the Earth, as well as Mokou's chapter in Cage in Lunatic Runagate. Mokou NEVER wants Kaguya to return to the moon so they can continue fighting. However, Kaguya tends to do underhanded things to Mokou than actually going to up challenge her.

Yes, Mokou does hate Kaguya I never denied that.
All I ever said was she doesn't take the initiative in the whole Kaguya/Mokou conflict, like this and so many other comics apply.
Inaba of the Moon and the Earth has a comical and carefree atmosphere, and even ZUN has acknowledged that.

Also, notice how it always mentions Kaguya trying to kill her, not the other way around. She even constantly stresses that in the Imperishable Night dialogue. Actually, if you read it closely, it does show her opinion of the whole debate as being "meaningless" and "nonsense". The way I've read it up to this far(everything), she thinks it's rubbish altogether.

    In CiaLR, Mokou said:
"I stopped worrying about whether Kaguya would return to the moon. Even if she wanted to go back, she had no obligations towards me, and it seemed like she didn't want to go back anymore, anyway."

This is the second time I had to quote this in this topic. So much for "Mokou NEVER wants Kaguya to return to the moon". That was very temporary, and a long time ago.

Like I said earlier, the whole "Mokou is obsessed with trying to kill Kaguya and always challenges her" is a strictly fanon-induced idea. Canonically, she doesn't want much to do with her. She even lied to Aya in her interview to keep her away from the picture.

Read Inaba again. She does go and take the initiative at least once. You can tell she's aggressive. Again, think about Lunatic Runagate. Why would some one who is pestered by some one be so worried about that person disappearing?

Actually consuming history is basically hiding it, though her ability in EX mode is more along the lines of true manipulation perhaps.

5 years is a long time in terms of hobbies, and that means Mokou's terribly beyond the times, just like Kyle. Maybe Mokou should start saving up now for a PSP before a whole new one is released. (The PSP GO doesn't count)

Mokou: You can't deny that in Inabas, Mokou definitely acts all tsundere about the conflict with Kaguya, but in fact she seeks out every possible occasion and reason just to come near her, even if it's only for a talk or completely without a logical reason (talking about revenge all the time doesn't count).

Then again, Inabas are a very relaxed part of canon and deny or alleviate LOTS of previously stated / implied facts and stereotypes.

You all should stop taking the canon so seriously. Remember, no matter how serious shit happened this time, it ALWAYS ends up with all the sworn enemies and (supposedly dead) youkai drinking tea and chatting leisurely. How can we assume motives or exact personalities of the characters, when even ZUN contradicts himself so much, that in the IN and Inabas, Kaguya seems like a complete different person?

This. Inaba is more of a comic, where as CiaLR is more of a canon-abiding story. It goes much more in-depth, so you can't really take everything they have in Inaba for granted, especially if it contradicts something from CiaLR- which goes much more in depth and in detail.. Where as Inaba is more of comic relief, CiaLR is more of an in-depth story. If I had to take one of the two as official material, I'd take CiaLR.
The whole "Mokou is a Tsundere bi for Kaguya who's obsessed about her" is what really gets on my nerves. She's practically the opposite of that.

I still feel bad for her. Nothing worse than being behind the curve, because sometimes, you just don't have the same money or access as other people do. Personally I never can get into things when they're really popular.

    |D People can't debate these things at ALL? Maybe it's fun for people? Because I'm pretty sure we're not trying to kill each other. And you yourself are trying to argue canon ._.;

How can we assume motives or exact personalities of the characters, when even ZUN contradicts himself so much, that in the IN and Inabas, Kaguya seems like a complete different person?

IotM&IotE is suppose to be funny, that's why it seems contradictory. Not only that, you have to consider situation. It's like thinking about Goku from DBZ. He's so series in a fight, but he's so relaxed and childish out of combat.

    Mokou said:
    This. Inaba is more...

From what I've read on both of those, neither is contradictory of each other. There may be times when characters act differently, but that's only in comic sense. Plus, it's the only part of the Lunarian story that starts before the others, and continues after them, constantly making references to both.

Not only that, the part I was really getting at says the same thing in CiLR. Mokou wants to fight Kaguya, pure and simple.

The whole "Mokou is a Tsundere bi for Kaguya who's obsessed about her" is what really gets on my nerves. She's practically the opposite of that.

Mokou not once really did anything for Kaguya. She doesn't show nervousness, etc. I definitely agree with you there.

It's even a Mokou custom one.... I miss those times trying to put 2 barrels together. It got trampled on popularity compared to that Tamiya and Beyblade stuff. Even Crush Gear didn't last that long.
