Sure, she was going to graduate eventually, as explained by GYARI here, but given that the VOMS POP UP SHOP was planned to be in march, at the very least this whole diatribe anticipated her graduation, and prevented her from streaming for the whole last month. Even assuming she was always going to graduate on March 31, that's an entire month right before her graduation where she couldn't stream due to the whim of internet idiots.
I mean, if you're already set on graduating and might be having second thoughts on it, getting harassed by the people who you thought you could be comfortable with will certainly solidify your decision.

I think they just mean a coincidence that something so major happened right before she had been planning to graduate, but, as far as newest official statements claim, had nothing to do with her choosing to graduate now. What details, if any, regarding the nature of her graduation that may have changed after the harassment we'll probably never know.

Like bro I'm on your side, trans rights, fuck JK Rowling, and I get that it's important to resist her horribleness in any way you can including attacking the game because she's made sure she's inextricably linked to the brand in ways that almost every other author never does and she herself is singularly responsible for making life materially worse for trans people particularly in the US and UK so yes it would be super great if people could please just try really hard to not give this game any attention, and I know that the people JK Rowling's transphobia has affected are largely really angry and really desperate and it's really difficult to avoid lashing out at any perceived possible target, but like bro.

I think the worst part of it all is that Hogwarts Legacy had no input from JKR. Like the game is as far removed from her as it could possibly be so it's revenue she doesn't deserve again, so Pikamee not knowing has merit. She just wants to play funny wizard game...

Fair point, I couldn't remember the exact nature of the VOMS group. That really just further validates the idea that if GYARI is telling everyone that he and Pikamee have been talking about and planning this for a while, he means it.
If Pikamee was under a standard yearly contract, the timing is exactly right for it to lapse due to the end of the Japanese fiscal year (April - March). It would be pretty reasonable for her to discuss not renewing it within the final 3 months, whatever the reason may be. Getting sucked into drama at the last minute is rough, though. I hope that hasn't dissuaded her from streaming somewhere else, if she's still interested.

Pika getting all the harrassment at the end of her career is bad enough, but now seeing one of her final legacies is being used as talking points in angry rightwing gamergate nerd diatribes and being weaponized in hatred against minorities will definitely hurt her more.
