    This sort of "laugh sound" is pretty common in manga/doujin... For non-English speaker like myself, it is hard to come up with an equivalent "sound" in English.

    There are no equivalent. It's expressed by other kind of words like "chuckle" and such.

    True enough, but for non-native speakers it's difficult do find the proper onomatopoeia if you haven't read, let's say, comics in English. You need a huge sample to conclude that sound doesn't exist.

    Also, we are biased with our own language onomatopoeias (like a dog's whine sound "caim", which would be pronounced like the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod's name). It's a lack of vocabulary thing.
