Could this fantasy world be the future of the "Momdroid" world? I mean, the "elves" are just mechanical constructs before that guy decided to try and make them as authentic as he could. What if at some point in the momdroid story line the humans finally decide to repair the damage to the Earth and it just took several thousand years to complete. In the meantime humanity "regressed" and "magic" sprung forth because of all the lost tech mingling with the returning environment. It would explain why a "futuristic" mech is now appearing in a fantasy world.
Would also be hilarious if the momdroid somehow survived, or was delegated as some sort of deity in this timeline.
