A recent study on bumblebees found that carrying a full load of pollen makes the bees work harder to fly and in turn generates more body heat. Given the body temp increase under load can potentially it make it easier for bees to reach their thermal limit, there is concern that with hotter average temps that bees may end up having to change their behavior to adapt. These adaptive behaviors may result in less plants getting pollinated and potentially bees bringing less food back to their hives in turn.
