Seems to be quite a paucity of images showing traditional Japanese wedding formalwear here, (wedding kimono as it's being tagged here - I'll have to look up the proper Japanese term sometime), so I thought I'd upload this particularly nice example I found in the game from which I've been posting images lately.

Mind you, the wedding kimono tag seems to be relatively new, so there probably are a fair number more to be found in the archives with a little digging that were just tagged 'wedding dress' or the like at the time.

The traditional white japanese wedding kimono is called shiro-maku.The wedding kimono actually consists of two different kimono. The white wedding kimono , that is worn for the wedding ceremony and an elaborate rich patterned silk brocade kimono called uchikake , that is worn over the white kimono at the wedding reception.

The bride's hair is coifed in traditional Japanese style called bunkintakashimada. Her wig is covered with a white hood-like veil of cloth called a tsunokakushi, meaning demon horns. It is draped over her face. According to Japanese tradition, the veil is there to hide her demon horns. The horns are a sign of jealousy and, tradition states, that by covering them, she acknowledges her submission to her mother-in-law.
