After TL-ing the commentary, I wondered just how bottles of water were going repel cats (aside from spraying with them). Turns out that it stemmed from a news article in the 80s USA about how leaving filled bottles of water out would keep stray dogs away. Supposedly the thinking was that the refracted light off the bottles would keep the animals at bay. The information spread across the world and took root in Japan, though they have considerably more stray cats than dogs, so they utilized it for that purpose and the practice gained popularity. In modern day it's more commonly known to not work but apparently some still use them in that way.
So yeah Satori has left filled bottles outside her room in hopes to keep Orin away. (it doesn't work)
