More to the point, canon Alice actually lets travellers stay the night in her house if they are going through the Forest of Magic (since its much more dangerous at night), but she tends to ignore them in favor of her research beyond offering necessities and a room, so most visitors finjd her a little creepy. She also goes to the human village and occasionally does puppet shows for the children there!
Its specifically stated that she is young for a youkai so she still thinks like humans do, so her being lonely on occasion is possible, but she is clearly social enough on her own to go find some temporary companionship (she even goes to Eientei on occasion to buy medicine from and talk shop with Eirin), so she isn't nearly as desperately lonely as fanon would have you think. That said, annoyances like this aside, she does think of Marisa as a friend, and Marisa has canonically defended her against accusations made by Reimu!
