    Just in case anybody's interested...this is one of the mechs ported over to Battletech, renamed as the Rifleman. Too bad legal disputes over another Unseen have stalled development on the Mechwarrior reboot :(

    More like thank god. Battletech has always been slow, clunky, and practically drowning in its own juices. Good riddance.

    The only experience I've had with Battletech is MW4 and its expansions so I can't speak about the tabletop, other MWs, and the enormous amount of fluff, but MW4 was thoroughly enjoyable not least because it's the only decent mech simulator I've played in a practically non-existent genre. A new game with updated graphics and a stable multiplayer would be awesome imho.
