Klabautermann is the "phenomenon" in which the ship's spirit materializes and even communicates with its crew. So yes, that IS the Going Merry.

I think PoorLittleAlice was just trying to make it simple. Not everybody knows what a Klabautermann is

one of the most heartbreaking scenes in one piece was them losing their ship.
