If the game was modeled after the anime in the slightest. Pokemon would have access to all their moves as they learn them. And some moves are universally held by all pokemon.

I'd like it if you could chose to keep the moves they learn, it'd be more complicated. People have figured out the game completely, it's down to being just an optimizations problem now and whoever has more time in their hands will win
well, not that it'll ever stop being an optimizations problem, but at least the number of possible moves/items/etc combinations would be completely insane and it'd fit real life a little more.

nidoran-f can breed, but nidorina and nidoqueen can't; it's a complete mystery as to why. breeding capability is a bit different from gameplay mechanics like move limit and such, so nidoran-f's case does mean something

special really is the only one; all the others are one-offs at best except for the silly clefairy gag manga and pokemon zensho which is literally the game in manga format (and the basis of the origin)
