    ... I miss yo-yos

    :(

I do wonder, do children of this generation still play with 'em?

Highly doubt it. These days if someone wants some mindless entertainment, they'd just play a quick DS/PSP/Phoneipodwhatever game.

Ui can do anything: from cooking to playing any instrument she wants to taking care of her careless sister. Yo-yo is just another of her talents.

I still whip out my Yo-Yo once in a while. It's old enough that I don't remember what it was called (and they later changed the name), but it was a weighted black butterfly with a free-spinning bearing under the string and large teeth to catch the string for return. Well oiled and worn, it'd sleep for previously-record times...and I bought it for $12 at an elementary(primary) school assembly. Good times.
Though, being 20yo, I dunno if you'd count me as "this generation."

probly not as much because their quality has apparently gone down. got the urge to buy one a while back for nostalgia, got one I thought was a fairly decent looking quality one, and the damn thing broke in like a half hour

I had a really awesome steel (or whatever metal) yo-yo, slightly more expensive than the regular plastic-y ones everyone had and the only metal one I've seen to this day. It was stolen and I didn't buy more 'cause my next one was plastic and waay worse..
